Cherene Francis
Cherene Francis is a Film and Media actor-producer and digital marketing consultant known for her expertise in monetizing online communities. As an alumnus of the OYA Media Black Arts Coalition (OBAC) program and a current member of Black Women Film Canada (BWFC), Cherene continues to create, direct, and produce narrative and branded content for businesses across Canada and the USA. As a producer, Cherene achieved a remarkable feat by independently producing two seasons (24 episodes) of "LEAP!" - a talk show featuring renowned entrepreneurs. The show aired on CHEX TV - Corus Entertainment, reaching audiences throughout Ontario. She has also produced a short feature film concept, STAINED (2023), and has directed a sci-fi thriller, The Cold Ride (2025). With a degree in Religious Studies, Cherene’s productions explore cultural, psychological, and spiritual perspectives, offering insights into mental health, ancient wisdom, and paranormal activity. Her work showcases thought-provoking narratives for screens of all sizes, blending entertainment with inspiration.Â

The Cold Ride is based in 2064; future Toronto. Xen Feore, devastated by her daughter's death, seeks justice, believing engineer Elena Perdona is responsible. Xen kidnaps her through a rideshare app to end Elena's life but faces a tough truth: executing her plan may be more challenging than expected.
STAINED (2023)
STAINED Premiered in December 2023 at the Toronto Shorts International Film Festival. It is currently being developed as a feature film and is seeking investors, partners, and funding opportunities.
STAINED is a supernatural thriller about a teenage girl who uncovers the mind-bending truth behind an eerie presence in her mother's childhood home after moving in with her estranged Caribbean grandma.
MANEATER
A short film concept about Anita Mann’s complex views on sex, love, and death leaves much to the imagination, and her therapist is about to discover how deep the rabbit hole goes.
